Additive Manufacturing (AM), also known as 3D Printing, is the process of joining materials to make parts form 3D model data, as defined by ISO/ASTM 52900. In additive manufacturing, material is typically deposited layer upon layer, to build up a final part. This can be accomplished by starting with a build plate that is welded on to produce the final part, or it can start with an existing part where features are added to produce a new part.
ETW offers multiple automated welding processes to produce additively manufacture parts, including GTAW, GMAW, PTAW and SAW. Materials ETW offers for additive manufacturing include, but are not limited to; carbon steels, low alloy steels, nickel alloys, and stainless steels.
If you have any questions about additive manufacturing or would like ETW to evaluate a specific case for additive manufacturing, please reach out to our sales team.
